Excellent result of the Centre of Central University of Gujarat
Gandhinagar:Students studying at the Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence of Central University of Gujarat have passed the prelims examination conducted by the UPSC. It is noteworthy that ‘Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence’ has been established in the university by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. In the centre, 100 scheduled caste students are prepared for all competitive examinations including UPSC. It is worth mentioning that 31 central universities of the country, including CUG, have been selected for the Centre of Excellence. The only central university in Gujarat has been awarded the ‘Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence’. Dr Rajesh Makwana, coordinator of the centre, said the centre aims to empower SC students in preparation for UPSC and other competitive exams by providing better opportunities for learning and excellence through free quality coaching, personality development and acquisition. Attached materials, computers, internet facilities, rich libraries, competent faculty and regular lectures are provided in the civil services. Students are also provided with various competitive magazines, study material, test series and current affairs magazines in the class itself. Fortnightly mock test series are also conducted to evaluate the student’s performance. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rama Shanker Dubey has told that the centre has been doing excellent work since its inception. Many students of the centre have excelled and achieved success in many competitive examinations including GPSC.
Prof. Dubey said that Vishwas Rathod and Mayur Parmar have cleared the recently held UPSC prelims exam. It is a matter of pride that among all the excellence centres in the country, the only CUG Excellence Centre has achieved the highest number of students. Dr. Makwana said that the students have also started preparing for the main examination of UPSC.
