Ahmedabad (Gujarat) : The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), in coordination with the Rajasthan Special Operation Group (SOG), Jaipur, and local police, has busted an illegal psychotropic drug manufacturing unit in Rajasthan and arrested three people from the spot, officials said on Monday.
According to officials, the joint raid was conducted on December 28, 2025, at APL Pharma located in Khairthal district’s Tijara area of Rajasthan, under the jurisdiction of the Bhiwadi Phase-3 (UIT) Sector-3 police station.
Three individuals—identified as Anshul A. Shastri, Akhilesh P. Maurya, and Krishna S. Yadav—were apprehended during the operation, along with three labourers present at the site. The team seized 22 kilograms of illicitly manufactured psychotropic substances, officials added.
During the raid, the authorities also recovered precursor chemicals used for manufacturing Alprazolam, along with semi-processed and intermediate chemical substances, indicating large-scale illegal drug production.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat ATS said it continues to closely monitor the activities of organised crime networks operating across the country. As part of this effort, Deputy Superintendent of Police Harsh Upadhyay of Gujarat ATS received credible intelligence about the presence of Vikas alias Golu Jasbirsingh Sheoran—originally from Kakaroli in Haryana and allegedly associated with the Rohit Godara–Naveen Boxer gang—in Rapar, Kutch district of Gujarat.
After verification by Police Inspector J.N. Chavda, it was found that the suspect was staying with an acquaintance at a RO plant company located in Nageshwar Park, Rapar. The information was subsequently shared with the Superintendent of Police, East Kutch (Gandhidham).
A joint team comprising personnel from the SOG and Local Crime Branch located Vikas alias Golu Jasbirsingh Sheoran at a residence in Rapar and brought him to the Gujarat ATS office in Ahmedabad for further interrogation, according to an official release.
